Islam or Christ?

Christianity and Islam have influence over much of the earth’s population. Let’s compare the views of these two religions. A great similarity between true Christianity and Islam is the belief in only one God. Mark 12:29-31 Jesus answered him, “The first of all the commandments is: ‘Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one.30 ‘And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment.31 “And the second, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” Scriptures are from the New King James Version.

There is no word for salvation in the Koran. There is no way that a Muslim can know for sure about his eternal destiny. The only sure way that a Muslim can know that he is saved is if he dies for Allah. This is the reason why so many are willing to become suicide bombers, etc. The more of the enemy (non Muslims) they kill, the greater their reward in eternity.

In Islam, a Muslim can only hope that he is saved. If his good deeds are more than his bad deeds, then he can enter into paradise.

In contrast, the Bible teaches us that God became a man and died for us. Jesus Christ is God in human form. We have assurance of salvation through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and our obedience to Him. “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16

“By this we know love, because he laid down his life for us.” 1 John 3:16

The Bible gives us the assurance of our salvation and entrance into heaven.

“All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one that comes to Me, I will by no means cast out." John 6:37

“My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of my Father’s hand.” John 10:27-29

The god of Islam is to be defended by his followers. Anyone who speaks against him or his prophet must be put to death.

The Bible teaches us that God does not need to be defended by mere mortals. He is well able to defend Himself. To the contrary, He is able to defend those who put their trust in Him. Christians are to pray for those who reject God, pray that their hearts will be open to God’s love for them.

Enemies are to be destroyed. Even family members are to be killed if they depart from Islam to another religion.

Christians are taught to love their enemies and pray for them. Vengeance belongs to God. “I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you.” Matthew 5:44
Some surprising statements about Jesus from the Koran: Jesus knows the way to heaven- Sura Al-Imran 3:42-56

The Koran lifts Him above the status of a prophet because it says that He is holy. 3:42-48

Jesus has power over death. 49-54

What the Koran says about Mohammed:

Sura 46:9-10 quoting Mohammed, “I am nothing new among the prophets; I do not know what will become of me or my followers. I am just a voice of warning.”

Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father but through Me.” John 14:6

“I and My Father are one.” John 10:30

“He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father?’” John 14:9

“Whoever confesses Me before men, him will I confess before My Father who is in heaven.” Matthew 10:32

Allah is not a god of love. He is a god of death. Thus, death is glorified in Islam. He does not seek a loving relationship with his followers. He is to be feared.

Life is a gift from God, and it is to be valued. John 10:10 “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

God desires a relationship with you. He came to earth as a man. He suffered and died in order that you could get to know Him. Revelation 3:20 “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.”

1 John 3:1 “Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God..”

1 John 4:7-9 “Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. 8 He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. 9 In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him.”

John 1:12 “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.”

If you want to go to heaven, do not follow a prophet who did not know what was going to happen to him or his followers. Follow the Lord Jesus Christ who is the way, the truth, and the life. John 14:6 He is Lord of all. Revelation 19:16 “And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.”

Remember, the great difference between Islam and Christianity is this: In Islam you die for your god. The gospel of Jesus Christ declares that the one true God became man and died for us! The Bible teaches that only the blood of Jesus can save us. We cannot be saved by shedding our own blood!
