A noteworthy letter from Ethiopia to Bishop Smith

Bishop Teklemariam Gezahegn (Ph.D) and Sister Mary

Dear Bishop Samuel Smith,

Loving Greetings in the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.

We hope this E-mail finds you well. We always pray for the progress of the Church and the Organization. We were very much blessed attending the AWCF Conference and the Sunday Church program in Evansville, Indiana last April, and always admire of the sound doctrine you have. The church in Ethiopia is proud enough to Fellowship with your Organization. Thank you for considering us as part of your Organization, the Church of the Living God.We were informing the goodness of your church to the churches in South Africa, Kenya, Congo Kinshasa, Uganda, Sudan, Ghana, Djibouti, Yemen, the European Conference in Oslo, after we came back from the World Conference in Evansville, Indiana.

The National Youth Conference that was held in Addis Ababa from August 17-19, 2007 was great and soul blessing. We had the chance to gird our young people to equip them to win souls in thousands in this End Time. 100,000 (Hundred Thousand) Tracts were distributed within two weeks time. Trinitarian local churches that received Tracts have began to create division, and those who understood the Truth are asking for Baptism in Jesus Name. Some of the Trinitarian church leaders appealed to the court for converting their people. However, God is giving us victory.

Ten days ago (From October 12-14, 2007) we had a Conference in the City of Awassa Stadium for the first time, where about 150,000 people attended. As you may know this city has a big history. This is the 1st city where Bishop Teklemariam was sent by God to preach the Gospel of Truth that the twelve Apostles preached. He travelled about 1400 kms. from his birth place (North of Ethiopia) to Awassa South of Ethiopia. He didn't know anybody, he didn't know the culture, he didn't know the language. The food was different. This is the city where the Gospel of Jesus Christ preached first, in Ethiopia.

36 years ago, due to serious persecution in this same city (Awassa), Bishop Teklemariam's son Moses were killed, all his house furniture including 40 Bibles, musical instrument were burned by fire. Seventy saints that were gathered there for Fasting and Prayer and Worship were bitten to death and was on the ground lifeless. The police brought a truck and threw them on the truck piling one over the other like a sack of grain. When they arrived at the hospital to put them in the casket, the Spirit of God breathed over the lifeless bodies, and they came back to life and jumped out of the truck one after the other until the Colonel who was standing there were so surprised and said, "Are they spirits or humans?", and told the policemen to leave them alone. Then they went back to their homes.

After 36 years of that persecution, in this same city Awassa, the government gave us permission to hold our first Conference in the Stadium. 8,000 Choir (eight thousand Choir) marched in the heart of the city, in four directions, (2000 in each direction) towards the Stadium singing the Greatness of God and holding slogans that reads:-

"And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and his name one." (Zech 14:9)

Traffic Policemen assigned to re-direct all the cars that are coming to this direction, to go in another direction not to disturb the marching of the Choir to the Square. And the Choir arrived at the Square without any disturbance. The Choir marched to the Square on Friday and Saturday. The Conference was from Friday afternoon to Sunday Evening. The Traffic men were standing the whole three days in shifts to keep the security of the people and the cars.
The entire city who knew our history was surprised. The preachers and saints who were on that persecution time, who saw that sever persecution, Praised God falling on their faces to the ground.

The President of the Southern Region respected our invitation and he was on the opening of our Conference with other Government Officials. Bishop Teklemariam invited him to address the audience. He gave a very interesting speech.

On this Conference, 95 people baptized in Jesus Name, over 100 people filled with the Holy Ghost and 40 people received their healing from different kinds of sickness. Bekele Kito from Wojegra Melga district was healed from tuberculoses. Sister Aster Danego, whose both eyes were blind, God restored her site. Praise be to our Lord Jesus Christ. Thank you for joining us in prayer. We love you.

Our Ministers' Conference will be held from December 4-9, 2007.

May God richly bless you!

Sincerely yours in His Service,

Bishop Teklemariam Gezahegn (Ph.D) and Sister Mary
