by: Bishop Samuel Smith The war between light and darkness continues! It began when Lucifer rebelled against God and was cast out of Heaven. Since then he has caused havoc, misery and in general… "hell on earth." Satan's works are many, you need not look far to see his craftiness. His followers are dedicated and numerous. The struggle between right and wrong intensifies as we approach the finale of a fated generation. Once, the Egyptian Pharoah seeking to destroy the child who would lead Israel out of his clutches, murdered all the Israelite boy children under the age of two. No wonder even now the enemy of mankind's soul salvation fights the "truth" that sets people free from sin! Demon-driven Herod tried in vain to kill the Christ-child. Why should we be surprised when today, the devil stops at nothing to prevent souls from following Jesus Christ all the way? The early Christian Church was persecuted, battered, and beaten. The New Testament saints and the generations that followed were burned, suffered, and bled; but, they never bent, never surrendered, and grew stronger with every trial. Should we be surprised that the 21st century church is attacked by the power of darkness? Likewise, the true church will overcome! The children of light walk in good company. Abraham Lincoln said, "I believe the Bible is the best gift God has given to man. All the good from the Saviour of the world is communicated to us through this book." George Washington said, "It is impossible to rightly govern the world without God and the Bible." Patrick Henry proclaimed, "The Bible is worth all other books which have been printed." Andrew Jackson stated, "That book, sir, is the rock on which our republic rests." Compare these men of faith with the likes of Hitler, Stalin, Osama Bin Ladin, and Saddam Hussein. I'm sure you will agree that the "servants of light" have left a far greater legacy than have the "slaves of darkness." You may be neither a Lincoln nor a Hitler, but neither is it possible for you to be neutral. For you are a living soul who will serve one master or the other, God or Satan! History reveals the fate of those who make a foolish choice. |
